Designing
Every ADU we design is carefully planned to balance compliance, smart space planning, construction feasibility, and financial performance.
✓ Detached & Attached ADUs
✓ Conversion ADUs
✓ Above existing structure ADUs
✓ JADUs
✓ MDUs
✓ Home Remodel&Additions
✓ Code compliance
Our comprehensive design process is divided into three clear and structured phases to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and successful project delivery:
Phase I – Pre-Design, Research & Development
This phase focuses on feasibility analysis, site evaluation, zoning and code research, and defining the project scope. We study local regulations, setbacks, utilities, and site conditions to develop a strategic foundation for your ADU project.
It begins with on-site measurements, where we document existing conditions to ensure accuracy in planning and coordination.
Following the site visit, we conduct a Kick-Off Call (KOC) with your design team. During this meeting, we review your project goals, discuss site-specific considerations, outline zoning and code requirements, and align on expectations, timeline, and next steps.
By the end of Phase I, you will have a clear understanding of your project’s potential and a well-defined direction as we transition into Phase II.
Phase II – Schematic Design & Design Development
During this phase, we transform ideas into detailed concepts. We develop floor plans, elevations, and site layouts.
Key Steps in Phase II:
✓ Design Review #1
Comprehensive review of preliminary concepts, layouts, and overall direction.
✓ Design Review #2
Updated plans incorporating your feedback, with adjustments to layout, functionality, and aesthetics.
✓ Design Review #3
Confirmation of the finalized schematic design prior to engineering coordination.
✓ Release for Engineering
Phase III – Construction Documents & Engineering
In the final phase, we prepare a complete set of construction-ready drawings and coordinate engineering disciplines. These documents are developed for permitting process and contractor use, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and smooth construction execution.
This phase III produces deliverables to help you envision what the final product will be.
